She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie T. Powell and Edith Brown Powell; and her children, Dean Nix, Donald Nix and Wanda Jean Nix.

She is survived by: her husband George Meece of Liberty; her daughter Gail Browning (Roger) of Liberty; her sisters, Nancy Senter, Patricia Morgan (Jeff) and Lillian Powell; and her stepmother Catherine Powell Stephen. She is also survived by loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home (105 Florence St, Pickens, SC 29671).
