He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosalie Howard Gentry and Thomas Herbert Gentry; his wife Sylvia Bailey Gentry; and his brothers, Howard Gentry, Frank Gentry, David Gentry and Jack (Helen Shirley Corn).
He is survived by: his sons, Dean Gentry (Deana Gentry) and Steven Gentry; his close friend Barbara Bagwell; his daughter-in-law Cathy DeJong Gentry; and his grandchildren, Ross Gentry, Gabriella Gentry and Sam Gentry. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dillard Memorial Funeral Home (2402 Gentry Memorial Hwy, Pickens, SC 29671). Viewing will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Pickens View Wesleyan Church (744 Bethlehem Ridge Rd, Pickens, SC 29671). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Flowers are accepted or Contributions in Rev. Gentry's memory may be made to Foster Gentry Memorial SWU Gentry Scholarship Fund, or Pickens View Wesleyan Church Building Fund.
