He was predeceased by: his parents, Avery Owen and Cassie Smith Owen; his granddaughter Heather Nicole Owen; and his siblings, Walter of Willie, J. D., Bruce Owen, Gertrude Galloway and Gladys Norris.

He is survived by: his wife Cassie Raines Owen; his children, Michael Owen and April Nabors (Scott); his grandchildren, Matthew Owen (Amber), Mark Owen, Tyler Crowe and Madison Nabors; and his sisters, Hazel Couch and Margaret Finney.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM at the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home (2402 Gentry Memorial Hwy, Pickens, SC 29671). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
