With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jean H. Galit (Pendleton, South Carolina), born in Bennettsville, South Carolina, who passed away on June 1, 2019 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy D. Hamer and Marie Thompson Hamer; her sisters, Betty H. Lewis, Happy Devitt and Joan Ardell Newton; and her nephew Sinclair "Trey" Lewis III. She is also survived by seven nieces; three nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews.
