It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willie Mae Meekins of Pelzer, South Carolina, born in Laurens, South Carolina, who passed away on June 13, 2023, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Golden and Janie Woods Golden; and her husband James Woodrow Meekins. She is survived by: her children, James Woodrow Meekins, Jr. of Mauldin, SC, Janie Etta Jefferson of Blythewood, SC, Georgia Johnson (Leon) of Washington, DC, Ruth Riggins (Leon) of Texas and Linda Faye Meekins Kinlaw of Alabama. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
