We are sad to announce that on August 6, 2022, at the age of 83, Ray Thurston (Pelzer, South Carolina), born in Piedmont, South Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Jane McCall Thurston; his parents, James Frank and Mary Elsie Lollis Thurston; his son-in-law Richard Lavender; his grandsons, Bryan Lavender and Matthew Hooper; and his siblings, Carroll, Doug, Steele, Mike Thurston and Diane Mitchell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Janice Lewis (John) of Maryville, TN, Beth Byars (Larry) of Anderson and Jodi Cantrell (Wes) of Pelzer; his siblings, Rich Thurston of Pelzer, Debbie Freeland (Jerry) of Seneca, Annette Epps (Stan) of Iva, Nancy Baptista of Iva and Kathy Ebright of Pelzer; his sisters-in-law, Ruth Ellen Thurston of Pelzer and Debbie Thurston of Pelzer; his aunt Louise; and his uncle Lewis Woods of Fountain Inn. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren.
