It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Melvin Shackelford of Pelzer, South Carolina, born in Anderson, South Carolina, who passed away on December 22, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Christine McCoy Shackelford; his parents, John R. Shackelford and Eva Pittman Shackelford; his daughter Vicki Hamby; his grandchildren, Katrina Shackelford and Jeffrey Hamby; and his siblings, Ethel Duncan, Lois Grant, Ruth Cummings, Garvin, Richard, Bob and J. D. Shackelford.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Capps of Pelzer, Randy Shackelford (Rose) of West Pelzer, Mike Shackelford of Belton and Danny Shackelford (Julia) of Pelzer. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
