It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Peterson of Pelzer, South Carolina, born in Greenville, South Carolina, who passed away on May 23, 2024, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though James may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those James touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his wife Susan Fooshe Peterson; his parents, James Otis Peterson and Shirley Margaret Meeks Palmer; and his sister Drucilla Marie Duncan of Pelzer. He is survived by: his children, James K. Brown, II (Laura) of Pickens, Susan Marina Brown Lane (Marvin) of Mountville, Shannon Elizabeth Smothers of Greenville and Heather Leigh Brown of Pickens; and his brothers, Harry Peterson (Tina) of Severna Park, MD, Matthew Palmer of Bothell, WA, Alphonso "Al" Palmer (Terri) of American Samoa and Ammon Palmer (Sue) of Anderson. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
