He was predeceased by: his parents, James Henry and Rosa Lee Bargoil Bell; and his siblings, Alan Bell, Norwood Bell and Hazel Wigington.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth Hiott Rogers Bell; his children, Glenn Steven Bell (Debbie) of Pelzer and Diane Bell Smith (Phil) of Pelzer; his stepdaughters, Brenda Mauldin (Jones) of Williamston and Cathey Ross (Cliff) of Gastonia, NC; his grandchildren, Bryan Major, Stacey Major, Lindsey Major Marchman (Dane), Philip Bell (Heather) and Jeffrey Bell (Christine); and his stepgrandchildren, Janet Boyce (Ricky), Timothy Ross (Mary), Andy Ross (Becky), Charlie Ross and Guin Thompson (Patrick). He is also survived by five step-great-grandchildren.
