With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Evelyn Whelchel (Pelzer, South Carolina), born in Milner, Georgia, who passed away on September 14, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her spouse W. T. "Dub" Whelchel; her parents, W. J. Howard and Mary Bishop Wiley; her son Larry Dale Whelchel; and her sisters, Dennie Frick, Dorothy Powers and Shirley Martz.
She is survived by: her children, Tom Whelchel of Anderson, Donnie Whelchel (Tammy) of Starr and Robin Davis (Chris) of Pelzer; her siblings, Ted Wiley of Pelion, Randy Wiley (Vickie) of West Columbia and Carolyn Brown (Marion) of Daleville, AL; her grandchildren, Nissee Wilson, Adam Whelchel (Michelle), Blake Whelchel, Justin Whelchel (Kirsty), Clay Whelchel (Kayla), Tori Odachowski Coby Davis (Brandon) and Gracie McCuen; and her pet Dixie. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
