She was predeceased by: her parents, James Boyd and Thursea Jones Gordon; and her son James Billy "Bill" Matthews. She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Pamela Sue Odom Matthews of Pelzer; and her close friend Charles Bennett of Piedmont. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
