He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Clay and Essie Roe Alexander Gilliland; and his siblings, Rosie Gilliland, Wanda Whitmire, James Gilliland, Albert Gilliland, Jr. and Raymond Gilliland.
He is survived by: his close friend Kaye Gilliland; his children, Lee Gilliland (Carrie) of North Pole, AK, Shane Franklin (Hanna) of Piedmont, Lynn Gilliland Leopard (Lynn) of Easley and Jami Lingerfelt of Piedmont; and his siblings, Ricky Gilliland of Possum Kingdom, Bobby Gilliland, Michael Gilliland of Pickens, Vickie Bryson and Rhonda Whitmire of Piedmont. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
