He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Sue Billingsley Bennett; his parents, Richard Elmer and Ida Mae Collins Bennett; his children, Robert Lee Bennett and Delores Sue "Suzy" Simpson; and his siblings, Hubert Bennett, J. R. Bennett and Ruth Foxx.
He is survived by: his granddaughter Shadow Paul. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.
