He was predeceased by: his wife Janis Leodis Banks Freeman; his parents, Esley Freeman and Nettie Mae Cason Freeman; and his siblings, James, W. T. Freeman, Clara Rushton and Elizabeth Bowers.
He is survived by: his son Danny Freeman of Piedmont; and his grandchildren, Alicia Minter (Brian), Robert Freeman (Emily) and Crystal Freeman. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
