He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Geneva Macomson Brooks; his parents, Omer Armenius and Adelaide Ellijay Abbott Brooks; and his siblings, Jewel, Ben, Paul, Willie Brooks, Lillian Phillips, Mary Elrod, Sarah Davison and Ruby Voyles.
He is survived by: his sons, Mitch Brooks (Linda) of Anderson and Tim Brooks (Stacy) of Williamston; his sister Jeanette McCurry of Ellijay, GA; his grandchildren, Chuck Brooks (Carol), Hayley Atkins (Brad), Alston Milner (Jonathan) and Allen Brooks (Leann); his great grandchildren, Martin Cooper (Blake), Matthew Brooks, Annie Laurie, Will Atkins, Scout and Tate Milner; and his great great grandchild Kennedy Cooper.
