He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Ray and Rebecca Ashley Ray; and his brothers, Claude Ray, Richard Ray and Morris Ray.
He is survived by: his children, Kristina English, Desiree Battle, Rashonda Battle, Michelle Battle and Shaquille Ray; and his siblings, Mary Ray of Columbia, SC, Janie Middleton of Pelion, Eugene Frank Ray of Ciolumbia, Nathaniel Ray of Columbia and Amos Ray (Lorine) of Georgia.
