We are sad to announce that on December 20, 2024, at the age of 77, Joseph Francis Shumpert of Pelion, South Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Joseph has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyrus David Shumpert and Necola Hallman Shumpert; and his sister Annette Shumpert Lucas. He is survived by: his nieces, Elizabeth "Liz" Reynolds (Michael) and Anna Lucas Burr; his nephew David Lucas (Melinda); his great-niece Sarah Burr; his great-nephew Lucas Burr; and his brother-in-law Malcolm Lucas.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Blizzard Funeral Home Chapel (163 Main St S, Wagener, SC 29164). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
