She was predeceased by: her parents, Cyrus David Shumpert and Necola Hallman Shumpert. She is survived by: her husband Malcolm Eugene Lucas of Pelion; her daughter Elizabeth Annette Lucas Reynolds; her son-in-law Michael Eugene Reynolds of Jacksonville, Florida; her son David Odell Lucas; her daughter-in-law Melinda Buchanan Lucas of Beaufort; her daughter Anna Priscilla Lucas Burr; her grandchildren, Sarah Necola Burr and Lucas Edward Burr of Lexington; and her brother Joseph Francis Shumpert of Pelion. She is also survived by friends and college classmates and later "Net" by her grandchildren.
