She was predeceased by: her spouses, Thomas and Miles West; and her father Frank Bedford Best, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Richard Michael Carter Jr. (Natalie) of Lexington, Mary Frances, Dawkins of Murrells Inlet and Elizabeth Stanley DuBard of Florence; her stepchildren, Bradley West and Morrow (Bobby); her sisters, Charlotte Best Seignious (Frank) of Summerville and Frances Best Graves (Sam) of Topsfield, MA; and her mother Vivian Rucker Best of Summerville. She is also survived by eight grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Prince George Winyah Parrish Church, Brookgreen Gardens, or a charity of one's choice.
