He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald B. West, Sr. and Lillian C. Beers West. He is survived by: his wife Linda West; his daughter Suzanne E. Shephard (James Tyler); his grandchildren, Emerson and Sophia of Surfside Beach; his son David B. West (Angela); his grandchild Tristyn of Midlothian, VA; his daughter Katherine D. Ivicic; and his grandchild Brayden Matthew.
