He was predeceased by: his father John (Frances Engelsen). He is survived by: his friend David; his siblings, Anne Suralik of Tuckerton, NJ and Brian Engelsen of Stuart, FL; his daughters, Sidney Caruso of Pawleys Island, SC, Andrea Cardinale of Pawleys Island, SC, Liz Engelsen of Edinburgh and Judith Engelsen-Daub of Pawleys Island, SC; his sons-in-law, Anthony Caruso, Andrew Cardinale, Tony Smith and Robert Daub; and his grandchildren, Zane Harter, Alex Daub, Savannah Cardinale, Sidney Cardinale and Oliver Smith. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Barnegat Light Museum on Long Beach Island, NJ or to the St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park, two places he felt strongly about.
