He was predeceased by: his daughter Joye Myers of Sterling, VA; his parents, Evie Smith and Norman Smith of Phenix City, AL; and his sisters, Evelyn Corcoran of Conway, SC and Patsy Chesser.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Britt Smith of Phenix City, AL; his daughters, Suzanne Smith Belt (Mark) of Sterling, VA and Caroline McAllister of Hamilton, VA; and his grandchildren, Sarah, Steven, Lauren and Catherine.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tidelands Hospice, who provided wonderful care and comfort to Ben and his family during this difficult time.
