He was predeceased by: his parents, Weldon Miles Hurst and Ada Lee Jones Hurst; his wife Rosa Faye McLain Hurst; and his brothers, Leverne, Boyce, James and Harold Hurst.
He is survived by: his children, Rodney Hurst (Tina) of Cheraw, SC, Kent Hurst (Jennifer) of Patrick, SC. and Melba Jones (Billy) of Patrick, SC.; his grandchildren, Nicolas Gulledge, Justin Hurst (Hope), Logan Hurst (Alyson), Adam Hurst and Gabe Hurst; his great grandchildren, Hunter, Peyton, Scarlett, Grayson, Jace and Madison; and his close friend Ethelene Tyner of Patrick, SC. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
