He was predeceased by: his parents, Eunice Grant and Floyd Barr. He is survived by: his children, Sheneva Cooper, Andrea Young (Harold, Jr.), Walter Eugene Barr, Jr. (Latrisha "Tweet") and Rachel Barr; his sisters, Carolyn D. Harris and Donna Custer; and his aunts, Daisy E. Grant-Seigle, Rosa J. McWhite (Jimmie) and Mary Wood (J. Daryl). He is also survived by nephews; nieces; other relatives; and friends.
