She was predeceased by: her parents, Darley Spencer and Estella Osbourne Spencer; and her siblings, Lester Spencer, Wendell Spencer, Reva Pearce and Wanda Lee Keefe.

She is survived by: her husband Robert Langston Gassaway of Pamplico; her children, Robert L. Gassaway, Jr. of Pamplico, Kevin Lee Gassaway (Debbie) of Leander, TX, Jason Lane Gassaway of Windsor, CA and Tracy Lynn Munn of Pamplico; her grandchildren, Kaylea Gassaway-Holt (Wade), Jennifer L. Gassaway, Emily Gassaway, Justin Munn, Allie Gassaway, Devin Gassaway and Savanna Gassaway; and her siblings, Paul Edward Spencer of Franklin, OH, Keith Lowell Spencer of Augusta, GA, Greg Allen Spencer of Yucca Valley, CA, Betty Jean Jessup of Saskatchewan and Darlene Matthews of Myrtle Beach, SC..
