She was predeceased by: her husband John Robert Kersey, Sr.; her parents, Harry Kenneth "Kent" Gaskins and Jessie Lou White Gaskins; and her brothers, Dale R. Gaskins and Rick T. Gaskins.
She is survived by: her sons, Robert Kersey (Dawn) of Pamplico, David Kersey (Mary) of Pamplico and Ronald Deal (Tania) of Kentucky; her grandchildren, Pierce Turner (Jessica) of Pamplico, Morgan Turner of Pamplico, Addison Cox of Pamplico, Lane Cox of Pamplico and John Rex Kersey of Pamplico; and her sisters, Faye B. Gaskins of Pamplico and Judy G. Yannello (David) of Pamplico. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
