He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin Lamar Thaxton, Sr. and Katherine Douglass Thaxton of Pageland, SC.; and his brother James Thaxton. He is survived by: his wife Janice Tucker Thaxton; his daughters, Jeslyn McFadden (Michael) and Molly Davis (Joseph); his brother Calvin Thaxton, Jr.; and his grandchildren, Milyn McFadden, Hadley and Mabel Davis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Monroe and Union County Community Shelter.
