He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Rufus and Yvonne Deese Smith; his son James Michael Smith, Jr.; and his brother Mickey Smith. He is survived by: his wife Debby Smith; his daughter Julie Smith; his granddaughters, Grace, Ella and Anna Claire Smith; his brother Marty Smith (Linda); and his cousins, Ann Catoe (Ernie) and Steve Smith (Margie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
