He was predeceased by: his wife Deana Gail Houser; his parents, Thomas Norwood Houser and Cornelia Culler Houser; his brother Sydney Houser; and his brother-in-law Millon Plyler.
He is survived by: his children, James Michael "Jimmy" Houser (Mindy) of Orangeburg and Stephanie Houser Eskew (Robbie) of Greenville; his grandson James Ashmore "Asher" Eskew of Greenville; his sister Mary Neal Plyler of Greenville; his sister-in-law Linda Houser of Savannah; and his pets, Sadie and Buttons. He is also survived by nephews and many close cousins.
