He is survived by: his wife Katherine Callaway Patterson; his daughters, Cally Banks (Dave) of Greenville and Anne Griffin Tafel (Thomas) of Columbia; his grandsons, David Wood Banks III and Steven Griffin Banks; his siblings, Grady "Leck" Patterson (Sally) of Columbia, Lynne Trowbridge (Tommy) of Columbia, Laura Timmons (Johnny) of Columbia, Amy Shumpert (Jerry) of Aiken and Beth Dryden (Will) of Columbia; and his siblings-in-law, Turner Callaway (Dackie) of Washington and Laura Hart Clayton (Ed).
