He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Smith, Sr. and Eartha Lee Smith; and his siblings, Curtis Smith, Jr., Hester Davis, Rose Rivers, Jannie Woods and Debbie Ann Greene.
He is survived by: his children, Dwayne Chaney (Jewel) of Baltimore, Maryland and Melodie Ellis of New York; his grandchildren, Stephanie Palmer of Boston, Ronette Franklin of Charlotte, NC, Christian, Julian, Adrian Chaney, Da'Shaua, Iyana, Jordan Ellis and Isaiah Palmer; and his siblings, Herman Smith of Orangeburg, SC, Jeffrey Smith of New York, Mary Grasty, Elizabeth Mims, Pearl Bradley, Diane Wade (Rodney) and Evelyn McIver of Orangeburg, SC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
