She was predeceased by: her husband John Robert Fort; and her parents, W. H. Baxley and Agnes McNeil Baxley. She is survived by: her children, Clete Fort (Maria) of Las Vegas, NV, Pamela Fort Ridgway (Keith) of Lexington, S. C. and William Fort (Melissa) of Norway, S. C.; and her sister-in-law Gayle Carter. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
