It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nazroe Chavis of Orangeburg, South Carolina, born in Neeses, South Carolina, who passed away on April 24, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Nazroe leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Chavis and Eualena Jackson Chavis; and his sister Mamie Weaver. He is survived by: his children, Pam Chavis Toombs (Antonio) and Richard Chavis; his grandchildren, Natalie Nelums, Eric Hughey and Deshawn Hughey; and his great grandchild Gianna Hughey. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
