Melissa Caroline Fields Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melissa Caroline Fields of Orangeburg, South Carolina, who passed away on March 9, 2025, at the age of 52, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Dennis Braxton and Patsy Griffin Braxton; and her niece Michaela Jordan Johnston. She is survived by: her children, Brent Adam Ridgway, Haley Alexandra Ridgway, Christopher Cody Braxton (Cayce), Crystal Fields Muckelvaney (Eric), Melanie Fields (Scott) and Cheree Fields (Rodney); her grandchildren, Sailor Braxton, Sylas Braxton, Gianna Furtick, River Braxton, Madelyn Muckelvaney, Kayden Muckelvaney, Mya Fields and Natalie Fields; her sisters, Donna Braxton Milikin (Andy), Angela Denise Braxton Spires (Michael), Stephanie Renay Braxton Evans (Robbie), Karen Elaine Braxton Moore (Stephen) and Kimberly Lynn Braxton Johnston (Michael); and her close friend Angie Chavis. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel (1012 Whitman St SE, Orangeburg, SC 29115). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Memorial Park Cemetery (2720 Broughton St, Orangeburg, SC 29115).
