She was predeceased by: her parents, Glenn Bates and Annie Mae Bates; her former husband Jacob B. Gray, Jr.; and her siblings, Alice Garrick, Ellen Bizzell and Halbert Bates.
She is survived by: her daughters, Debbie Gray of Orangeburg and Nancy Rumchak (Jim) of Prosperity, S. C.; her grandchildren, Roger Rumchak (Kathy) of Greenville, Jennifer Davis (Jonathan) of Midlothian, VA and Jacob Gray (Tara) of St. Matthews; her sister Margaret B. Pettit (Gene) of Orangeburg; her great grandchild Noah; and her pet Benny. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
