He was predeceased by: his mother Eva Haddock of Orangeburg; and his children, Debra Herring Kirkland and Richard M. Herring. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Herring; his children, Kenneth T. Herring (Megan) of Orangeburg, S. C. and Wendy Herring Pope (Jeff) of Harleyville, S. C.; and his grandchildren, Chris Hopkins (Cary), Kyle Herring (Liz), Tara McKissick (Jason), Tiffany Noell (Chuck), Matt Herring (Larissa), Megan Herring, Ryan Kirkland, Taylor Kirkland (Tiffany), McKelden Herring and Ewan Herring. He is also survived by twenty-one great grandchildren.
