We bid farewell to John T. Spires (Orangeburg, South Carolina), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 3, 2025 at the age of 81. John touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, John "J. T." T. Spires, Sr. and Junell Williamson Holman; and his siblings, Arthur Spires, Mae Spires and Betty McCollum.
He is survived by: his wife Linda B. Spires; his children, Teresa Beason (Roger) and Nick Lee (Angie); his stepchildren, Chris Rutland and Ricky Rutland; his brothers, Leroy Spires (Shirley), Carl Spires and Palmer McAlhany (Terry); his aunt Nancy; and his nephew Robert McCollum. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. (1012 Whitman St SE, Orangeburg, SC 29115). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
