He was predeceased by: his parents, Vannie Mitchum and Lydia Mitchum; and his sister Wilma Mitchum Jackson. He is survived by: his wife Linda Beck Mitchum; his children, Amanda Mitchum and John L. Mitchum, Jr. (Jay); and his siblings, Carolyn Lohn (Frank), Paul Mitchum and Kenneth Mitchum (Hopper).
