He was predeceased by: his parents, John L. Hughes and Margaret Judy Hughes; his wife Peggy Hughes; and his siblings, L. T. Hughes, Roy Hughes, Raymond Hughes, Margie Thomas, Marie Thomas and Idell Davis.
He is survived by: his children, Sheri Bowers (Eddie), Cindy Breland, Kelly Hughes and Randy Hughes (Maria); his grandchildren, Julie Strickland, Justin Gilliam, Joni Bowers, Jacob Breland, Lia Hughes and Jade Hughes; and his great grandchildren, Brice Strickland, Kyle Strickland, Mallory Strickland, Jody Gillam and Shuler Gillam. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
