Joan Dupree Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joan Dupree (Orangeburg, South Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 15, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband James Oliver Dupree, Sr.; her parents, Gary Brooker and Nellie Brooker; and her brother David Brooker. She is survived by: her children, James Dupree, Jr. of Scottsboro, Joe Dupree of Orangeburg, Jill Dupree Hinds (Erik) of Orangeburg and Jack Dupree (Jennifer) of Jamestown, NC; her grandchildren, James Dupree, III (Glenna), Morgan Dupree, Spencer Dupree, Mark Hinds (Caroline), Joanna Hinds, Jacob Dupree, Jr. and Julianne Dupree; her great grandchild Grayson Dupree; and her sister-in-law Mable Hall of Scottsboro, Alabama. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. (1012 Whitman St SE, Orangeburg, SC 29115). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. George Baptist Church (2590 Shillings Bridge Rd, Orangeburg, SC 29115).
