With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Janie Brown (Orangeburg, South Carolina), who passed away on February 1, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Laura Bookhardt; her daughter Barbara E. Brown; her siblings, David Bookhardt, Lucille Moore and Esther Blanding; and her grandchildren, Anthony C. Brown and Tameka S. Brown.
She is survived by: her children, Herman Brown (Brenda) of Cordova, SC, Geraldine Johnson of Columbia, SC and Timothy Brown (Karen) of Orangeburg, SC; her siblings, Virginia Johnson of Orangeburg, SC and BJ Bookhardt of Elloree, SC; her sisters-in-law, Ella Mae Whiteside of Orangeburg, SC and Mulvenia Fairnot of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; and her daughter Oneatha Williams. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
All those attending service must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.
