She was predeceased by: her parents, Hilmer Skaggs and Mary Reva Gray Taylor; her stepfather Walter Taylor, Sr. (Colie Carter, Jr.); and her sister April Sullivan. She is survived by: her children, Gerald D. Carter, Sr. (Pam), Andrea Elizabeth Marley, Stephanie Belinda Rose (Michael) and Colie "Trey" Carter, III (Denise); her grandchildren, Gerald David Carter, Jr., Tarah M. Carter, Cynthia L. Carter, Phillip M. Carter, Christina Marley, Elizabeth A. Stanziale, Randel W. Mobley, Calvin R. Mobley, Autumn N. Rose and Tristan G. Carter; and her siblings, Sonny Taylor (Marietta), Walter "Junior" Taylor, Jr. (Fran) and Sylvia T. McComas (Michael). She is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
