He was predeceased by: his parent Vinona Welch; and his brother Isaac Scott Welch. He is survived by: his wife Marlene Welch; his daughters, Helen Crotty and Beth Towles (Phil); and his grandchildren, Catherine Crotty, Daniel Crotty, Philip Towles (Maggie) and Nate Towles (Kaitlyn).
