She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Frank Jennings and Lena Legree Jennings; her nephews, Billy Lee, Jack and Larry; her husband Lucius Simmons; her siblings, Helen Jennings Nelson of Bamberg, SC, Jessie Lee Jennings (Kathleen) of Greensboro, NC and Jasper Jennings (Lou Edith) of Bamberg, SC; and her siblings-in-law, Charles Sherman of Bamberg, SC, Annie Ray of Orangeburg, SC, Betty Brown of Barnwell, SC and Mary Whittaker of Sebring.
