He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Dealous and Eunice Thelma Stockman Dowey; and his sisters, Naomi Coutsos, Jeanette Arant and Eula Bell Rollins.
He is survived by: his wife Vivian Reetz Dowey; his children, Gregory Dowey (Missie), Cheryl Dowey Ward (Charles) and Laura Dowey Szakovits (Brian); his grandchildren, Clifford Charles Ward, Anna Leigh Dunton (Andrew), Clayton Kenneth Ward (Ashley) and Jackson Dealous Dowey; his great grandchildren, Miles Clayton Ward, Jonah Clifford Ward, Grayson Charles Ward and Abigail Joleigh Dunton; and his sisters, Lois Dowey Geiger and Connie Dowey Zink (Millard). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Harmony Baptist Church (998 Tookie Doo Ln, Elgin, SC 29045).
