It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Orren Lester Brannen Jr. of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, born in Statesboro, Georgia, who passed away on July 3, 2024, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Orren Lester and Ruby Parrish Brannen; his wife Barbara Franklin Brannen; his sisters, Carolyn Bischel (Ed), Dean Beacham (Robert) and Joy Cobb (Elliott); and his in-laws, Annette King Macleod, James Macleod and Paul Franklin, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Gloria Bailey, Margaret Whitson (Jerry), Dr. Jim Brannen (Jan) and Susan Brannen (Wayne); his grandchildren, Brooke Walker (Cliff), McKenzie Sholos (Todd), Lane Schulenz (Florian), Dr. John Brannen (Jamie), Dr. James Brannen (Kate) and Caroline Majors (Draegen); and his great grandchildren, Ava Walker, Charlee, Tybee Schluenz, Lynley, Lola Brannen, Ellie, Hadley, Blakely Brannen and Collins Majors.
