It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol J. Pender (North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina), born in Lamar, South Carolina, who passed away on March 15, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mae Bell and Worth Ostell Ballard (Oscar); and her brother Leonard Ballard. She is survived by: her brother Steve Ballard (Nancy) of Due West, SC; her daughters, Deb Goering (Tom) of Topeka, KS and Myla Butler (Gene) of Myrtle Beach, SC; her grandchildren, Fields Butler of Charlotte, NC, Heath Butler of Columbia, SC, Henry and Anna Goering of Topeka, KS; her nephew Matt Ballard (Leah) of Annapolis, MD; her great-nephews, Jonah and Caleb; and her sister-in-law Bobbie Wilhite (Bo) of Walhalla, SC..
