We are sad to announce that on June 23, 2022 we had to say goodbye to Barbara Joyce Powell of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, born in McColl, South Carolina. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Homer Lee Powell; her parent Willie; her siblings, Thad, Pete, Harold, Roger, Arlene Long, Mable Carpenter, Dot Newsome and Sue Wimmer; and her great grandchild Izzy Powell.
She is survived by: her children, Ron Powell (Cathy) and Sharon McLaurin (David McLaurin); her grandchildren, Shannon Powell (Melissa), Bethany Walker (Bert), Landon Powell (Allyson), Rebekah Moore (James), Liz Wilson (Ernie) and Hannah Melton (Robbie); and her sisters, Marian Jones and Pat Hewitt. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Athens Drive Baptist Church, 1601 Athens Dr., Raleigh, NC 27606.
