He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lawrence Smith and Mary Barnett Smith; and his brothers, Larry Smith and Danny Smith. He is survived by: his wife Lucy E. Smith of North Charleston, SC; his son Stuart Barnett Smith; his daughter-in-law Angela Lee Fischetti; and his granddaughters, Raigan Ann Fischetti of Ladson, SC. and Charlise Josephine Fischetti of Ladson, SC..
