She was predeceased by: her spouse Harold Hinson; her parents, Palmer Simmons and Grace Simmons; and her brothers, George and Tommy.

She is survived by: her nieces, Debbie Zecopoulos and Sandy Holland (Robert); her nephew Craig Simmons (Krista); her great-nephews, Christopher Zecopoulos (Samantha), Broughan (Kenna), Collin and Hayden Simmons; and her great-niece Audrey Zecopoulos.

In lieu of flowers donations should be sent to Roper Hospice Cottage at 676 Wando Park Blvd., Mount Pleasant, SC 29464 in Virginia's honor.
